| This was only the second time that Jason Hollon (front row, left) has raced a late model. Last year Jason started his racing career with a Modified. This year he decided to race a Late Model! Starting in 18th place last week at Mohler Speedway, his first race, Jason was in 9th place after just seven laps! Then a five car pile-up happened that spread debris over the track and Jason received a flat tire from running over it. Don Koehler Motor Sports (top row left) owns the Late Model that Jason is driving and Terry Rice Racing Engines (bottorm row right) is the sponsor. Don has owned the car you see to the right for eleven years and Terry drove this car for nine years! All three men are from Middletown. |
All the way from Australia!! Geoff Phillips and his father Ron arrived in the U.S.
only eight days ago, purchased a motor home, and they have already traveled
to nine states, 2000 miles. The car you see above was just purchased in
Michigan two days ago! Geoff has been racing since 1995 and raced
motorcycles for 15 years before that! Geoff & Ron will be going back to
Australia with four cars and trailers to sell for their racing season that begins in
August. Late Model cars are not available in Australia so they buy them here!

| I was eating a sandwich at J's Restaurant in Liberty before the races and this nice lady heard me talking about the races. She said that she looked at our pictures and said "That looks like fun!" Thanks for joining us. |
