Derek Fisher was the leader for the
entire race for the Late Models tonight.
He was just about to lap all the
remaining cars in the race until a
caution came out on the last lap.  After
restarting the last lap, the crowd heard
a loud pop and Derek was out of the
race!  What a shame.
Top: #9H Matt Hamilton was leading the race and #1G Devin Gilpin was very
close behind until the last few laps.  With only a few laps to go and everyone
on the edge of their seat in the crowd waiting to see who was going to win,
Mat & Devin got tangled up between turn three and four.  What a shame.

Left:  #89 Roger Smith received a really hard hit to the right side, slamming
him into the wall on the front stretch, by #2 Ed Johnson.  The crowd gasped
as Roger was helped out of the car and then he fell to the ground.
Thankfully, Rodger was OK.  He just got the wind knocked out of him!
This hansom young man has been sitting in the stands for the last seven weeks.
Tonight Joey Petrey was finally able to race his Super Stock car #27. Going by the
name "Joe Dirt", he has been racing for three years with his father as his pit crew. In
2007, Joe got Rookie of The Year at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Tonight, his first
race this year, he started the feature race in 15th place and finished in second!!  Joe
is from Cleves, Ohio, but lives in Rising Sun, Indiana with his girlfriend Gina who
said, "He is the love of my life and I am so proud of him."  His long time dream is to
race at Eldora Speedway someday.
