Smitty, B-Bo, Keir, and Chicken.
Keir and Chicken said they used to
work at the track.  Chicken said he was
the 1995 Track Champion for Union
County Speedway.
This beautiful young lady is Brittany Pardo.  She built this car
for a school project with a little help from dad.  Brittany had a
terrible accident during a race at the beginning of the season
and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.  She just
returned to the track last week but hasn't had very good luck
since her return.  She broke an axle during the feature race
last week and this week she only got one lap in before her
drive shaft broke.  She said, "I was nervous when I returned
that I was going to look stupid."  When I asked her if she was
afraid of getting hurt again she said no.  Brittany still suffers
from her accident.  Her syatic nerve is damaged, her legs go
numb at times, and her lower back has been swelling after
racing.

At the Wayne County fair Brittany drove in the derby.  The first
time she ran her car caught fire and the second time her car
wouldn't keep running.

Paul Pardo (Brittany's dad) and Jeremy Creech drove the car
at the Fun Fest in Lawrenceburg in the Car Cruiser.  Jeremy
Creech drove and Paul controlled the pedals.
Twelve-year-old Nathan Coffey is very thankful to
Sheltra & Sons Construction.  Nathan said his dad,
who owns the car & is the driver, would not be able to
be racing tonight if it wasn't for their new sponsor.
Jimmy Coffey had blown the transmission and the rear
end and was not going to be able to fix the car until
Sheltra & Sons Construction came to their rescue.
Proud Grandpa!
