Bob Smith raced at Union County Speedway for about 30 years. He said he
has won more first place races than anyone at the track. He ran three
different classes while racing: Late Model, Limited Late Model, and 6 Cylinder.
Eugene Brandenburg started racing at UCS when the track opened and
raced until 1986 when it became too expensive for him to run. He won the
track championship in 1982.
Jack Woodward raced at UCS from 1973-1993 when he said he quit because
of the expense. He ran in the Super 6 class.
All three men are well known at the track as outstanding racers. We are
honored to have them still visiting the track each week.
Above is Keith Mergenthal. He is our flagman's father and he doesn't miss a Friday!

Rick Marshell's car spun on its top and rolled a couple of times. We are thankful he is OK.
