Above is David Smith from Richmond, Indiana and his father Dale.  David started racing here at age
16 and this is his 11th year racing at Union County Speedway (now we know your age). This year alone
he has won 6 OUT OF 7 FEATURES at Union County Speedway and has had an additional six wins at
other tracks, making his total 13 WINS THIS YEAR!  He believes his success this year is because his car
is running very well, he is racing at 4 or 5 other tracks which has given him a lot more experience.  What
ever it is, he is doing great!
David's wife Amanda raced at Union County Speedway for three years but gave it up two years ago
when she had a baby.  She still comes with David to the track every week with their two children.  David
and Amanda both won the championship their first year racing at Union County Speedway along with
"Rookie of The Year Award" for David.
Dale Smith started racing when he was discharged from the service and raced for about 7 years. He
gave it up to let David race.  Dad is the owner of car #05 and the mechanic.  Obviously he is a great
mechanic and dad.
When asked if David thought his son, who is now six years old, would end up racing he said
"definitely!"  The six-year-old bundle of energy really enjoys watching dad race.  See you in 10 years!
Two pictures above is Rob Scarretti, owner and
driver of car #8 in the Street Stock class.  Rob has
been racing since 1994.  Other tracks he races at
are Mont Pilliard and Lawrenceburg.  Directly
above, from left to right, are Walt Ruby, Lois
Zurwell, Rob, and Lori Booso.  Walt and Lois are
good friends of Rob & Lori and coworkers.  Lori and
Rob have been together for two years and I think
he better keep her around...........she does
mechanical work, body work, paints the car, and
takes care of Rob!  Four more wonderful people
who visit our track every week.
The pictures are blurry because I don't know how to use my camera at night (I am working on that)!  But you can
see that there were a lot of Late Model cars involved in a pile-up on Friday night.

This little furry friend was trying to stay cool
in the shade and out of the way under Rob
Scarretti's Street Stock.  I have a picture of
Rob trying to catch the little rabbit but he
looks a little silly!  Needless to say.........he
didn't catch it!!
